Recovering After Surgery

The Process

How the Program Works

01

Assess

Start with a physiotherapy assessment to understand your health, movement, strength and goals.

02

Build

Receive an individual strength program based on what you can do now and what you want to get back to.

03

Train

Complete supervised strength sessions with appropriate coaching, progression and support.

04

Retest

We reassess your strength and function so you can see your progress and know what comes next.

Our aim isn't to keep you dependent on us. As your confidence and capacity improve, we can help you transition towards independent training, your own gym or another long-term exercise option.

Our Difference

A Sports Physio Approach to Healthy Ageing

We spend much of our week helping athletes rebuild strength and physical capacity after injury. The principles don't change with age.

We assess where you are, measure your current capacity, build strength progressively and retest to make sure it is working. The exercises and goals may look different, but the aim is the same: to build a body that is capable of doing more than everyday life demands of it.

FAQ

Common Questions

I've never lifted weights. Is this suitable for me?

Yes. You don't need any previous gym or strength training experience. Your first appointment is an assessment, and your program starts at a level appropriate for you.

Am I too old to start strength training?

No. The important consideration is matching exercise to your current capacity and progressing it appropriately.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly with us. If your GP, surgeon or another health professional is already involved, we are happy to work alongside them.
